In this sense, Kant states that to claim, to rule, is the ability to attribute (subordinate) to the whole (general).
According to the philosopher, our general concepts are transcendental in human knowledge before the singles and special ones given to us by experience. In the moment of experience, a person remembers the concepts that preceded him (a priori) in order to understand the specific. Thus, an idea, a judgment is formed by finding its place in the general concept.
