According to the philosopher:

- the concept of physicality is explained as a combination of attributes possessed by an object;

- since material substance is not simple, no physicality is simple;

- unlike physicality, the passion (nafs) is a simple being;

- although objects are complex, they can never contain two contradictory properties, but even though the nafs is a simple being, mutually contradictory properties can find a place in it.
