Economic school of Imam Ali

About Imam Ali

Imam Ali is the first Imam in a chain of Twelve Imams. He was a peerless mystic master who publicly and privately practiced highest level of abstinence from material comforts. He was regarded as one of the earliest spiritual masters and held as the first link after the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.)

Imam Ali (a.s.) wanted to govern his people with a difference. Much more can be learnt from Nahjul Balagha (Peak of Eloquence).  Among all the seventy-eight letters of Imam Ali (a.s.), some particular letter occupies a unique significance for the reasons of its length and clarity of purpose, notwithstanding the beauty of language and style.

Imam Ali’s (a.s.) ideas relating to matters of governance and the administration of justice do not just reflect his personal opinions. These ideas represent core Islamic principles as enshrined in the Quran and the precepts of the Prophet.

About Nahjul Balagha

Nahjul Balagha contains masterpiece sermons, letters and sayings of Imam Ali (a.s.). In it, there are sections on army, administration of justice, executive officers, clerical establishments, traders and the commoners - all of whom speak of his deep insight.
