Islamic finance in Europe (9)

Continuation
SUMMARY
The establishment of “Islamic windows” is particularly important in this context.
The financial crisis has offered an important yardstick by which one can gauge the:
o   advantages;
o   and disadvantages
of Islamic finance.
Section 4 provides empirical evidence on how Islamic financial institutions have performed in relation to conventional ones.
To this end, it considers the wide body of literature available from two main perspectives:
(i)                  the efficiency and profitability;
(ii)                and the stability and resilience
of Islamic institutions.
