According to philosophical sources, the subject of cognition is its bearer. In other words, subject of cognition is the source of understanding, is the mechanism of cognition. In this sense, the subject of cognition is human. At the same time, in the philosophy has the same approach that they recognize not only an individual, but also an entire group, such as society, as the subject of cognition.
The object of cognition is the thing, which the process of cognition directed. If the subject is percipient, the object is perceived. According to philosophical sources, the object of cognition is not the same as matter, objective reality. Both material things (chemical elements, physical objects, living organisms), as well as social events (society, human relationships, their behavior and activity) can be objects of cognition.
