The paper notes that, the accomplishment of utility or maslahah is
subjected to:

certain rules;
·
and limits
that have been laid down by shariah.
For instance:
Muslims are not allowed to indulge themselves in
miserliness and profligacy.
Rather, they are commanded to base their
consumption in line with Islamic law.
Thus:
the concept of utility in Islam differ from the
utility theory proposes by Bentham, which people only concern to maximize utility
without limit.
