4-th topic. The
most ancient economic theories
Chinese
culture and science presented deathless values for the history of economic
thought, as well as for the history of the world's culture. One of the honorable
authors of these higher values is Confucius (552-479 BC).
Confucius
considered the fair and prosperous society under the model of family. He wanted
to stabilize social and economic structure of society under the principles of father
and son, elder brother and little brothers. This idea is based on principles of
respect for elders, humanism and understanding of social responsibilities. In
these ideas humane people are modest fair and forbearing. Confucius showed that,
benevolent people are aware of their responsibilities, but uneducated people prefer
to take advantage of.
In
these ideas high moral principles are above than all kinds of wealth and high positions
in society.
Even
at present, the most important challenge for the world is the idea that, Confucius
considered the moral improvement of man as a foundation of public
administration.
According
to him, the government is a large family and King is the father of the nation.
Confucius
showed the image of the ideal manager as a perfect man and he pointed that, government
spending must be cost-effective and this institute should care for people. The
ancient philosopher showed theoretical ideas of ethical standards in socio-economic
relations.
In
general, analyses of Confucius’s ideas show that, every time and everywhere humanism
is above than economic interests. In these concepts human values and economic
interests are in the same platform. In these sources we clearly see that, the concepts
about stabilization of socio-economic structure in society are the part of
humanism ideas.
